The mission of Preventive Health Nigeria is to connect professionals and stakeholders to make them more preventive health aware so as to take informed and sustainable actions. As a healthcare professional, you are welcome to a world of credible information on vaccine preventable diseases and vaccines. For non-health care professionals, there is a lot to explore on which vaccine preventable disease you or your family could be at risk of and the available vaccines you should request from your health care provider.
Our Story
Preventive Health Nigeria was borne out of my experience as a GSK vaccines product manager. Though we recorded some sterling achievements as a commercial team, there was still much left to be desired whenever the potential of the market was taken into consideration. Our key vaccine brands were struggling to sell up to 50,000 doses per year in Nigeria, a country with a population of over 200 million people because of the low level of awareness of vaccine preventable diseases amongst both health care professionals and the general public. But it was not the sales that mattered the most- it was the number of lives being lost unnecessarily to diseases that could have been easily prevented by vaccination that did. Preventive Health Nigeria started in 2019, just few months after I left the multinational company. The vision? Simple - to be the foremost platform for the dissemination of credible and up to date information on vaccine preventable diseases in Nigeria.
